October is our busiest month in California. The Red Ribbon Week calendar tightens fast — the last week of October sees us criss-crossing the Golden State, often four schools per day.

When is Red Ribbon Week?
Red Ribbon Week is observed nationally during the last week of October — October 23-31, 2026 for the upcoming campaign. Schools select assembly dates anywhere inside the window (or the week before, for districts that prefer to lead in to the campaign).

How early should we book?
8-12 weeks ahead. October dates fill faster than any other time of year. California schools should book by July or August for guaranteed availability in their preferred peak-week window.

What's the program message?
Drug-free choices, healthy alternatives (BMX), peer-pressure response, refusal skills, and the spirit of the Red Ribbon Pledge — reinforced by professional riders who pursued sport as their drug-free outlet.

How does it tie to the daily themes?
The assembly can anchor any day of the week. Most California schools place it on Wednesday (Wear Red Day) or Monday (campaign kickoff) for maximum reinforcement throughout the week.
