Your topic. Our format.

In 1991, Dennis Langlais loaded a single quarterpipe into the back of a van and drove to a Southern California elementary school. The plan was a lunch-hour BMX demonstration paired with a short message about avoiding drugs and standing up to bullies. That first show ran 22 minutes — the audience of 380 students sat silent during the message segments and erupted during the stunts. Learn more about our school presentations offerings.

Three principals were in the audience. By the end of the week, all three had booked dates. Word travelled the way it does between school administrators: slowly, then suddenly all at once.

★ THE CREW
CHAPTER 02 · THE CREW

X Games-grade riders. School-ready messages.

Every rider on the team is a working professional BMX performer — with full liability insurance, a clean background check, and decades of reading K-8 audiences. They know when to crack a joke and when to drop the message.

"The students were still quoting the upstander code in advisory the following Monday — that's the test."

Three and a half decades in, the BMX School Assembly Programs team has performed at more than 5,000 schools across all 50 states. The ramps are bigger. The sound is louder. The riders are better. The formula hasn't changed.

★ THE METHOD
CHAPTER 03 · THE METHOD

Stunts students remember. Messages that follow them home.

Every school presentation is a 40-minute production with three integrated message segments: anti-bullying, drug-free choices, and character. Students remember the stunts; the messages stick because of them.

The format is built around what is recoverable on Monday morning — the language students can quote back to a teacher, the lessons that survive the trip from the gymnasium to the cafeteria to the kitchen table. That's the only real test of a school assembly.

How long is a school presentation?

40 minutes of active show, with 15 minutes setup and 15 minutes breakdown. About 70 minutes total on site. Additional back-to-back shows available for larger schools.

How many students can attend?

Up to 600 students per show, audience split 300 per side. Larger schools split grades into multiple back-to-back assemblies on the same day.

What surface do you need?

A hard surface like blacktop, pavement, or parking lot — 40 by 120 feet, similar to a basketball court. Send photos if unsure. A gym with 20+ ft ceilings works as rain backup.

What if it rains on show day?

We cannot perform in rain for rider safety. We move indoors to a gym or cafeteria, or reschedule within the district — no fee, no fuss.

Do you accept school purchase orders?

Yes. We work seamlessly with school business offices on POs, invoices, contracts, and W-9s. PTA / PTO direct billing also available.

How much does a school presentation cost?

Pricing varies by location, number of shows, and program type. Visit our pricing page at bmxfreestylers.com/faq.asp or call (657) 345-4603 for a quote.

Are riders insured and background-checked?

Yes. Full liability insurance and clean background checks for every performer. Certificate of Insurance delivered per-school before performance date.

How far ahead should we book?

4-8 weeks for most dates. Red Ribbon Week (October), Bullying Prevention Month, and end-of-year fill faster — 8-12 weeks recommended.
